Sustainability: We’ve planted 5,000 trees!

Here at BeautyPro we strive to ensure we are as kind to the planet as it is to us. Therefore we have a number of commitments we abide by in order to be as sustainable as possible.

In our efforts to create a climate positive workforce, we have teamed up with Ecologi and for the last 10 months we have been working to reduce our carbon footprint as well as giving back to nature by planting a tree for every order you place.

We are proud to announce that we have now planted over 5,000 trees!

This includes over 3,500 in the mangroves of Madagascar, 1,500 as part of reforesting in Changalane Mozambique and we’ve just begun to contribute to responsible planting in Bosawas, Nicaragua.

Reforesting across the world is a major natural climate solution, with trees such as our Mangroves capturing up to 4 times as much carbon per acre than tropical rainforests, making them the perfect choice for future carbon offsetting.

Carbon offsetting is also a key part of our partnership with Ecologi and here at BeautyPro we have helped to offset 153.9 tonnes of CO2e! This is the equivalent of 118 long haul flights, 462 metres squared of sea ice saved and 381,000 miles driven in a car.

We’ve achieved this through projects such as:

• Providing bio-digesters for rural Vietnames farmers to produce clean, renewable fuel from animal manure.
• The collection and utilisation of landfill gas in Chile that results in the generation of electricity.
• The installation and operation of wind turbines in Turkey ro reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
• Protecting the Brazilian rainforest from deforestation and forest degradation.

Our products and packaging

We are proud to say that all of our BeautyPro sheet masks are plastic free and will therefore biodegrade in just 75 days. So feel free to pop them on your compost heap! Our sachets are also recyclable. Check out our recycling page for more details.

We are also working to reduce our water consumption - all of our Plant Based range is 100% water free and we hope to roll this out across all of our masks over the next 12 months.

In terms of your deliveries, we have moved over to completely recyclable packaging with your orders arriving in paper envelopes or cardboard boxes, packaged with paper tape.

Transport and travel

We’re making every effort to reach a zero air freight policy. In 2019, we reduced our carbon footprint by 11 tonnes by shipping our products by boat rather than plane - equivalent to 698 days of home electricity usage. This is an initiative we have continued and will continue to commit to.

Also, our car fleet is 100% electric.
